
AJ Awed – Co Executive Director
AJ holds a J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and is certified in both International Arbitration and Mediation, with a strong foundation in conflict theory. He brings over five years of executive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector and is deeply passionate about advancing access to alternative dispute resolution. AJ’s work has focused primarily on business mediation, with a specialization in resolving small business disputes.
Katie Arnold – Co Executive Director
Katie is Co-Executive Director of Community Mediation Minnesota. She has worked for over 15 years as a professional family and civil mediator, and a Restorative Justice and Practices facilitator. Katie has been a member of the Community Faculty at Metro State University for 10 years, teaching negotiation and mediation, and she is serving her second term on the Minnesota Bar Association’s ADR Council. Previously, Katie taught SEL and peer mediation at the primary level, worked with students in restorative practices at the secondary school level, and she was the Director of Restorative and Mediation Practices (RAMP). Katie has her Masters degree in human behavioral psychology.
Jennifer Frisbie – Director of Operations and Programs
Jennifer came to CMM after 15 years of business ownership and as a veteran of the US Air Force. She has been a civil and family law mediator since 2018 and has served as faculty for the MN State Bar ADR Institute. In 2024, she received the Amicus Curiae Award for developing and leading innovative program development in the First Judicial District. Jennifer also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration. Beyond business, she is a passionate supporter of the arts and is an exhibiting visual artist.
Paul Dietz – Intake and Housing Navigation Coordinator
Paul brings a unique blend of experience in risk management, ministry, and personal development coaching. With a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry and currently completing his Master’s in Counseling, Paul is passionate about helping individuals and organizations navigate challenges with clarity and purpose. His background in risk management equips him with strategic insight, while his work in ministry and coaching reflects his deep commitment to personal growth, resilience, and holistic well-being.
