The First Judicial District selected Community Mediation Minnesota to receive the First Judicial District Amicus Curiae Award for 2024. CMM, Community Mediation & Restorative Services (CMRS) and Restorative & Mediation Practices (RAMP) team members joined the First Judicial District’s quarterly judge’s meeting on Friday, August 9th at Emerald Greens Golf Course to accept the award. The Amicus Curiae Award, meaning Friend of the Court, is an annual recognition of persons or organizations who have provided exceptional service, leadership, or other contributions to assist the courts in the First Judicial District to discharge their constitutional responsibility for the administration of justice. This award is in recognition of 2 and half years of mediation services for eviction hearings provided in Scott County District Court through a partnership with CMRS.
